Faculty Positions

The faculty are those who have been granted status as faculty members by the Board of Trustees upon recommendation of the President. The faculty shall consist of teachers with the ranks of Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, or Instructor, and any other designated by the President.

Augustana University seeks to fill a full-time, tenure track position in Physical Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor beginning Fall 2022. 

Primary Responsibilities: (1) Instruction of general chemistry and physical chemistry courses (lecture and laboratory) for majors and non-majors, (2) instruction of nonmajor chemistry courses (lecture), (3) developing a research program with undergraduates, and (4) service to the University community.  Successful applicants will have a demonstrated dedication to undergraduate education, a commitment to innovative and excellent teaching, the capability to adhere to the timelines of a rigorous curriculum, and the ability to meet the flexible instructional needs of the Department.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry.  Candidates with post-doctoral training and a strong record of undergraduate instruction in general chemistry and physical chemistry are preferred. 

Salary: Salary is competitive and dependent upon qualifications; excellent fringe benefits are included.
