A World of Possibilities

The International Programs Office (IPO) is the one-stop shop for all things international at Augustana.  Whether you’re a current student looking for study away options, a current international student, or a prospective international student, IPO staff are pleased to serve you. More than 50 percent of Augustana graduates typically study abroad during their time at AU, and as many as 150 international students from 40+ countries have called our campus their home away from home, making Augustana a truly international community.

In addition to supporting student mobility, the IPO is committed to the comprehensive internationalization of the Augustana University experience.  Whether through travel abroad, campus events and special programs, academics, or other forms of experiential learning, the IPO’s goal is to ensure that all Augustana graduates gain the international and intercultural skills and experience required for everything from competitiveness in today’s workforce to a more nuanced and informed understanding of the world.

The IPO partners with individual students, numerous student organizations, alumni, faculty and staff, community groups, the IPO Advisory Board, sister universities, other overseas partners, and more, to bring global perspectives and opportunities to Augustana students.

IPO Mission Statement
Believing that international and intercultural education are critical components of “an education of an enduring worth,” the IPO aims to provide access and opportunity to all Augustana students in order to prepare and empower them to serve their communities in a diverse and globalized society.
